I have not downloaded the few pics that I took from my DSLR, and I may not bother to post them. I did not enjoy the show, so I have little enthusiasm for the shots I took. It has nothing to do with the Sunchaser, in fact, the one good thing was that the venue made me very glad I did not bring my car after all. It was really disappointing, because the SF Radwood was one of the very best car events I have ever attended. Such a fun, wonderful day. This was not.
On paper, it should have been awesome: Radwood at the Petersen! What a great idea! The problem is that the show was in the parking structure. It was claustrophobic and awful; crowds of people and cars jammed in like sardines. They needed about half as many cars. The cars were parked...well...like a parking lot. The show cars were lined up space to space like a normal lot. You could not walk around the cars comfortably to get a good look at them
, and you could not get enough room for good photos. Impossible to get photos without bystanders. What a huge bummer. I didn’t want to get that close to the cars because of crowds and close quarters. If my car had been there, I would have been terrified of dings and scratches.
I am going to try Sonoma in 2019, but I won't be going to LA again if it is at the Petersen.

I wonder where they’re holding Radwood for Seattle. If it’s the CenturyLink Event Center, I may nope out...

Between the poor quarters for this and the poor turnout in Atlanta, Radwood really needs to get their organization and advertising shit together.

sounds like they were trying to go for the car meets like in japan, but poorly executed

That’s disappointing to hear. The closest one to me is Detroit, which is 5 hours away and not all that exciting a place to visit in general. Guess I’ll wait to see how the other 2019 events go.
On the other hand, I have no real affinity towards cars from that era, so I’m not sure why I care enough to even consider it. I lived through it and at no point did I get excited about cars.

Even parking for regular spectators was a joke. There were 80s and 90s cars circling the Petersen all afternoon looking for street parking because the garage was full.

Oh don’t even get me started on Atlanta. I was infuriated! For how much that was supposedly advertised, there were what, 30 cars? Half the field, with the other end consisting of #gridlyfe #stancenation garbage! At least Ed Bolian was there with his Audi.
My friends and I got up early and drove 6 hours from Raleigh...IN A MALIBU HYBRID NO LESS...for that utter shit-show!

It was embarrassing for me cause I’d hyped it up to my dad who I haven’t seen in a while. Was expecting it to be a great father-son reconciliation moment but instead it was depressing.

Yeah spectator parking was stupid. I found out after I got back to my car that I had parked illegally, I didnt see the NO PARKING ANYTIME signs everywhere. It was permit parking only pretty much all over the place. Thankfully I didnt get a ticket (I got lucky) but that is still pretty stupid to begin with. I knew it would be a problem from the start but there has to be better places in LA to go to. The Petersen is cool and all but I would have thought even a reasonably large grocery store parking lot would have been better. I guess space is generally a premium in LA but there’s gotta be a solution better than this one!
